About me
Hello, I’m Kaitlyn Sanner. I am passionate about art, design, data visualization, stationery, data, and faith.
graphic design
I am a graphic designer who specializes in data visualization and infographic design. The main goal of my design work is to make data and information more engaging, exciting, and understandable for the audience. I have 5 years of experience working on data-specific design projects. I worked for an online news site and an advertising agency previously and I am currently freelancing for various clients. If you are interested in working with me on a report, infographic, presentation or something else, please inquire here.

my background
Previously, I was the Senior Designer of Data Visualization at Solve(d) — a company within the FCB Health network. FCB is an advertising agency that creates work for consumers, patients, and healthcare professionals in New York City. I worked with data analysts to visualize data for pitches, client presentations and monthly/quarterly dashboards. We sought to reduce cognitive load for our audience through organizing information visually and providing clear key takeaways.
I designed data visualizations and infographics at Vocativ, a news website based in NYC, as well. I created maps, charts, graphs, infographics, and some motion graphics/gifs for all types of stories on the website (science, culture, national security, politics, etc...)
Five years ago, I graduated from UNC Chapel Hill with a degree from the School of Journalism with a concentration in graphic design. I also interned at the Sun Sentinel newspaper in Fort Lauderdale, Florida as a print designer for the one summer and then a multimedia designer for the following summer.
My experience with design began with fine art, mainly drawing and painting landscapes. I know that design is important not only aesthetically but also functionally. I have learned that good design can often go unnoticed, meaning that it serves a purpose greater than itself. In visual communication, good design helps tell a story, guide the reader through a narrative or concept, and enhance understanding and engagement.
